Because our 5x5-1/2 bolt pattern is becoming extinct we do not have a lot of choices on which wheels to put on our slicks. I've been to a bunch of adapter sites that ignore our bolt pattern. I just found this site that has a huge amount of choices for our 5.5 . I found the 6x135 to adapt the wheels from my 2004 F150 , and the 8x6.5 for all the F-250 rims.

The bolt pattern is the same from 48 to 96 I found out when choosing a wheel for my slick, l went with wheels that came off of a 95 F-150 Sputhern Comfort edition, I have to say for myself they look great and set off the ol girl.
I don't know if I'd say the 5 x 5.5 lug pattern is going extinct. Summit Racing alone lists over 10000 varying sizes and styles available.Good to know about adapter options though for sure. Disc brakes and larger rotors definitely create havoc fitting wheels up.

Really, I just went to Summit typed in 1979 F-150 and got 20 wheels. How did you come up with 10,000? What did you search for?
Yeah not surprised. Summit website has been a pain about that. I usually just go to the section or part I'm looking for without the vehicle information. Their fitment guides have been incorrect a lot as far as year, make and model. Go to wheels and scroll down and look for the lug pattern filter and now you're laughing.

I just checked that out, and you are correct. And it's not just Summit, it's pretty much everywhere I have looked.
But you can still use the adapters if you have a set of wheels you want to use that don't match. For example if you have a set of 19.5 8-lugs you want to throw on your F100
...went to an "old-timey" tire shop. He keeps all sorts of older wheels and as soon as I told him I wanted something for a 66 F250, he knew what he had in his pile that would fit. I think these are early 80's....
