If they are 14" wheels they are 5x114.3. If they are 15" wheels (more likely) they are 5x139.7

No metric wheels on Econolines or F Series Trucks till the 1990's.

The book is right.5.5'' translates to 139.5,97-up 150's went metric (5x135mm) LD250's (7x150mm).250-350 super-duty's were 8x6.5'' (165.1mm) which is the old standard 8 lug until 99' when they changed to 8x170mm.

Why? 1984 E150 Econolines are 15" / 6" wide / 5.50" bolt circle
Info is straight from the 1980/89 Ford truck parts book.
F100/150 trucks have used 5.50" bolt circle since the 1940's till the 90's metric change. (exc 1980/83 F100 which is 4.50")
E100/E150 Econolines since 1961 (first year) are
all 5.50" till the 90's metric change.

OK, I'm confused lol. This is where a unified metric system would help.
