How tall do you want to go? I'm assuming a 4x4 truck? It's hard to find a tall narrow 15" tire. The 265/75R15 is about equal to a 31x10.50R15. Guys are putting those and also 33x10.50R15's on stock wheels. You can also get bias ply N78x15 in a mud tire. If you locate a set of 16" wheels you would have a lot more options.
Hey, thanks for the insight and response. that’s good to know about 33’s - yes. 4x4. 33 x10.5 on stock rims would be great. Yep...seems like the 15’s are limited and tire guy said becoming extinct.
for now, I’ll stick with the 15 rims and see what I can find in the 33x10.5.
I have 8 brand new 235 75 r15’s that came with two parts trucks. One set has less than 25 miles on them and the other less than 100. Rather just sell 4 of those on CL and go taller.
Just be aware that some shops may not mount those tires on your stock rims because they are narrower than the manufacture specs for that tire.
That's one of the reasons I bought a tire machine and a balancer this year. That and around here they are getting snippy about mounting tires they don't sell to you.
