I'm at the point that I hope Ford and GM just say "Good for you" and ignore it.
If people need more power to tow something bigger, Let them move into something bigger than a class 3 truck and the associated licensing/insurance involved.
Same. I'd pause the power ratings where they are, and focus on making the truck tow the best (not the fastest up a hill). If I had to tow 25k or more on a regular basis, I'd absolutely be looking for a class 5-6 truck.
I would be happy if Ford kept the numbers the same but maybe gave us a working exhaust brake or even bring back half the things that have been removed for de-contenting over the years.

I agree. Thanks for expressing that.
Now we all just need to convince Ford that this is the case...
If they start actually making people have a class B or A license and impounding the offenders something will happen. There is a reason payload sat at 9900 for years and years, then they just said the hell with it. I would hope the requirements for those licenses would get raised but that isn't usually how gov works. It is ridiculous that an 80yr old who has never driven anything larger than a sedan can buy a 32' motor home, hop in and drive with no issues but a guy with a newer 1 ton and 24' empty tandem dual trailer would be illegal with the same class c license.
Well, it just so happens that just about ALL of the 80 year olds that I know that drive the 40’ motor homes got their money by hard WORK......a lot of which includes driving class 8 trucks. More miles than most younger ones have in their wet dreams. So don’t be too quick to judge.
The Cummins motor with 1075 would be killer, own both a 2017 Cummins 800lbs I think and a 2021 f350, can honestly say I like the Cummins better, bit loud and rattles but running 900-1200 rpm cruising is nice.
Would think the ceiling is close on 6,7s, wait for some one to do a displacement jump up.

I’m in CA and they started really cracking down on it couple years ago. I got my classA so I’m set. But biggest concern is insurance. If you drive a dually and pull a trailer over 10k and get in a wreck your insurance will say your under licensed. Bam.
