Is it too early to wish you all a happier New Year , I’m staying up to make darn sure 2020 is gone .
5150 that Ham looked good , I raise black angus for cut & Wrap , best way I know to cook steak 7 min each side on bbq high heat , I’ll lay the steak diagonal for that professional X burn roughly 31/2 min per turn , flipping it once and doing the same on that side , med rare is choice at those intervals, usually it’s bullseye bbq sauce but like to switch it up with the kinder’s spices ,
i noticed some Rat tracts in the Engine Bay , to my surprise they had made a huge nest under the turbo , they stole some Italian cypress branches and insulation I had in the back of the truck for a job along with plastic , I’m really glad all that didn’t start fire on my way to Arizona , here’s a pic of under the hood , and a product I bought from Lowe’s , so far the Eviction notice to vacate stands firm , I plastered everything known to Rat to climb on and threw .
Just to let you know , the valley is down 16” to 20”, had to rig up an extension on the vacuum and plunge the brush to get it out , it was so brittle the branches kept falling back down , what a pain in the **** .
If you're brave and you have steaks that have been cut 1" thick (or thicker), something I've tried a few times is to cook them from frozen. Takes about 20 minutes start to finish. Start with a relatively hot grill (400 degrees). About 5 minutes on side one, then rotate (not flip) for another 5 minutes on side one. Then flip over and another 5 minutes on side two, then rotate for a final 5 minutes. Outside will be seared with a nice cross hatch and the center will be medium rare; very juicy. Go longer or shorter depending on the thickness and your desired doneness.
