can an original radiator from 1955-223 be re-cored to handle a 302,

A 6 cylinder radiator has the bottom hole on the right. How does that match up to a 302?

Depends on the year of the 302, 1969 and earlier, yes, 1970 and later, no.

Look into a new radiator merely because the tanks are still old and fatigued and no longer available. I have a 1956 radiator with a new 4 row core and old tanks, and the upper tank has a 2.5"-3" long fatigue crack in it.
