Sold my 2000 XLT 4x4 SCLD and bought a 2018 F150 lariat 4x4.We bought a 24 ft travel trailer a few years ago and my 10ft slide in camper has just sat. I figured i had no need for the 1 ton and the market north of the border is good for these trucks so pulled the pin. 15 yrs ago i paid 15k and sold it for 15k. in one day. should have asked more i guess. Been on this forum ever since i bought the truck.
The F150 pulls the the trailer just fine with the 5.0 mtr. not like the 1 ton but no problem. love all the comfort.
Just wanted to say thanks to every one on this forum for all the help over the years, never could have done all the up grades and repairs with out you guys. we shall see if the f150 side is as good as the 1999- 2003 side is.
Roy.
Thanks for your input over the years, stop by once in a while.
Best of luck with the new rig! I completely understand upsizing from a slide-in to a trailer too.
Point the new owner to FTE, I think they get survivorship benefits.
My wife had a lot of input on getting a new truck. this truck is wayyy quieter, nicer riding and the seats are better on her back. and once she got in the travel trailer the camper days were numbered. we are both over 60 so comfort was winning out. And this truck gets up and moves when you want it too.
Good luck, we too were all set to get a 25 foot TT and my 1 ton is in top shape and ready to pull it but we went and bought a small class A MH on a Sprinter chassis for ease of travel & stealth camping in these times. Not letting go of the PSD though and may still get the TT. If the time ever comes though it will be an F150.

You know if I had the room, and I am not getting rid of my toys, I might have kept it. But I am not of having something sit there and collect dust.
