I just worked my way back in to answer some PM's, wrote a long response, and when sending it got kicked back into the Cloudfair mode. That was a long message to write and it's gone. How am I supposed to get that back or even reply to a PM? This is absolutely ridiculous. Especially going on now not for mere hours but over a day.

This is not happening on Powerstroke.org
That would tick anyone off. It's been an annoying thorn in everyone's side far too long. What I know about the internet and all things that make up the grid is, Sunday's are typical for many to run through the software adjusting and sometimes rewriting code to stabilize etc... sort of like maintaining your truck, just gotta stop a while and tweak things.
Hope this nonsense is over before then but it's known and they are working on it. Patience, the ultimate virtue.
I remember some suggesting FTE use the software the the org uses. Initially I didn’t care for it, but I’m starting to prefer it. Over the years I’ve had too many forums get corrupted and then having to change all my passwords and some email addresses.
Cloudflare’s history isn’t making me comfortable about this.
The interesting thing is, I can log out then visit the site all I want.

Jack, what I have found when I've typed a long message (and after 21 years of us knowing each other, I trust that the potential length of some of my messages need not be proven to you) .. if that Cloudflare interruption flares up (yes, all of us are getting it), what I have found is that if I hit the back arrow, I can go back to where I was. At that point I select all of what I've typed, copy it, and then proceed forward with the attempt to send or post again. After picking out bicycles or boats, and restoring admittance to FTE again, if my post/message as previously typed does not appear, then I can simply paste what I copied earlier (from hitting the back button) into the refreshed message box, and carry on, with nothing lost.
Yes, it has been a full day now since Cloudflare flared up, but keep in mind, it is Saturday night, midnight your time, 9 pm IB time. What this likely means is that the paid IT staff (who were conducting website tests on Friday afternoon) left work as scheduled for the weekend, and might not be back until Monday. This will naturally leave us with another day (Sunday) of Cloudflare. That doesn't mean that the Admins and Mods of FTE are ignoring the issue. We are all experiencing the same issue as members. We are discussing it upstairs, so to speak. But all we can do is discuss. The paid programmers are the ones with the keys to make whatever technical changes are required to bring us back to what we are accustomed to.
It is unfortunate that this flared up on the weekend, instead of the work week, but when I stop to think about what makes FTE a great forum, I realize it isn't because of the forum software, nor is it because of the services vendor that IB uses to keep the servers protected from Distributed Denial of Service attacks (the DDOS check that we are all being vetted for). Rather, what makes FTE a great forum are contributors like you, who keep constant vigil in the forums that interest you, and employ your personal and professional automotive experience toward helping other members with the questions and concerns they have about their vehicles.
Thank you for that, and thank you for hanging your hat here!
When I posted this thread in NOVEMBER, FTE decided to ignore my concern with cloudshare locking out VPN users.
I edited my post to say "my condolences" tongue in cheek.
I had no idea what cloudshare was and looked them up.
This whole situation smells terrible.
Maybe NOW it will be addressed.
Y2K, I do get the situation; I'm trying to work with it now. After that loss of words, we both know the first iteration is the best work we've ever written; I'm composing offline and pasting in, then quickly sending. But certain quirks are happening that sometimes let you do things, and other times kicks you right out. I did try the back arrow trick, nope, gone forever. Maybe it was my attitude after the incident, but the second message was missing things.
I have a bad taste in my mouth from issues in the past from TheDieselStop and TheDieselGarage, where passwords were stolen. I've had that with BCBS (laptop stolen) and banks. I don't go back, well, I touch TDS once a month, but TDG is just not visited. So it's doesn't take much to get me riled up about issues, while in effect, Cloudflare may be trying to prevent that. I'm less inclined to be swayed by the weekend off with such a widespread brand as IB and Cloudflare, and they ain't mom and pop. And Cloudflare should have procedures in place to deal with this, from a person who doesn't know its business.
Just ain't in the mood right now to play this game to see if I'm senile every time I log on or work within the system.
I don't feel like I can trust this site anymore. Cloudshare or whatever it is should be eliminated. we haven't needed it in the pass and it sounds like a scam.
So the "controversy" is that a company supports free speech and isn't willing to try and censor people that disagree with the opinions of the people running the company? That sounds like a good thing to me.
