Front Rotor Replacement Question
I have to replace the front rotors in my 97 F250 4x4. I have found the process to get to rotor removal, but have run into a road block. The spindle locking nut only has 1 notch around the circumference of the nut. I have not been able to find even a picture of the socket that is required to remove this nut. Has anyone seen anything like this? All of the examples I have seen show a locking ring that has 4 notches and those sockets seem to be easy to find. Does anyone know where I can find such a socket?
Additionally, as I dug into the hub removal, I found a part (I don't know the correct name for this part) directly inboard of the cam ring that has self destructed. What is the name of this part? I don't even know what to look for. Thanks for your help guys!
Notch in the locking ring
Damaged seal/thrust washer on inboard side of cam ring.
