Starter cranks for a second and then stops

 

Based on the detailed information you provided, I believe it can be; bad batteries, bad starter, PATS failure, Bad cables, Dirty cables... I can go on, provide more detailed info and you will get a whole lot of really good options...

 

Like Fatz says, start with the battery - make sure it’s fully charged. If that’s good, most likely it’s the starter.
