Super Turbo or Ultra Flow

- (DYNOMAX) -Could I get someone's advice on either of these 2 mufflers? I want a free-er flowing muffler, and this is what I can get right now for 60-70$.
The cat is staying. I would like a deeper sound (more bass), nothing raspy.
I'm not a big fan of glasspacks or just running strait back with no muffler.
See, 6 months ago before I found this website I just would've put a stock FORD muffler back on, but now I feel I have to upgrade!
Thanks for any input.

I'm a fan of magnaflows, they seem to have the ability to make just about anything sound good (well, most sixes and eights, I don't know how good a 4 can sound). Good quality stuff too.

The Dynomax Ultraflow will have a really deep sound to it. Also the Flowmaster 50 series will sound pretty good without being too loud.

With Dynomax, I think I prefer the Ultra Flow sound. All-in-all, though, I think I prefer the Magnaflow sound best.

Keep in mind, though, that I haven't heard any of these mufflers in person, I've just been listening to people's sound files online.

I just recently put a couple of Rhino's on my '67, and I'm impressed. They were $110CDN each, come with a lifetime warranty. At idle, they are fairly quite, and under light throttle they have a nice low rumble, but sound very throaty when the go pedal is mashed.

Thanks for the input. I've been doing some research on this, and the opinions on this thread pretty much echo what else I've found...the Magnaflows sound a little better (to me) than the Dynomax.

Here's 2 interesting sites I found:

http://www.carreview.com/Exhaust/Muf...S_2872crx.aspx

I wish I could find a review on the Gibson system, you don't here to much about them.

Right know the Magaflow and Flowmaster 3 Chamber (70 series?)are in the lead for me.

Question

I don't know why that link in my previous post is hosed up like that. It seems if one of those key BLUE words are in the link, it doesn't work.

Question

Can someone tell me if trucks like mine have original had dual tailpipes on it? I was pricing and Monroe said that truck had dual OEM.
I thought to myself no, but I didn't say anything cause he might be right for all I know. I bought the truck used. It has single 3" exhaust (3"in/out muffler).

go with magniflow. i think what was mean't by duals was two 2 1/4" pipes running parralell to eachother into one muffler and two 2 1/4 exiting out to one side. you will like the magniflows.

FarmApe, Your 460 stock had a single 3" into the muffler and then duals out of the muffer. I have the Flowmaster 50 series delta flows (3 chamber) on my truck and they sound great. I think you would be pleased with them.

Thanks for the info.
Now I wonder what aftermarket exhaust is on my truck? Whatever it is it's super quiet.
I'm debating between the UltraFlow and Magnaflow now. Magnaflow is about 30$ cheaper.
I do like the Flowmasters I heard, but I need a Stainless system.

I bet you have a Gibson single swept side exhaust on your truck... one of the quietest aftermarket systems out there.

Question

I wonder what effect going to 4" pipe after the 3" in/out muffler would have?
I can't imagine losing too much low end power, as theory has it, due to the cat and 3" muffler.

You won't gain or loose much of any thing if you are changing anything after the cat if you already have a 3" pipe. The stock cat is pretty big and restrictive.
