Steering help needed on straight axle conversion project
I’m putting a 4x4 Dana 60 under the front of my 74’. Truck is kind of a Frankenstein. I believe it is a F-250 converted to a dually at some point. 137” wheel base.
I bought a steering box off a bronco because of the box mounting location. Now that I made room for the steering box, the lower shaft and pitman arm doesn’t clear the bottom of the frame because of a hump in the top of the frame.
Aside from cutting & notching the frame and boxing it in, any ideas on what steering box I could use, or a custom pitman arm that might be out there.
included a few pics of the project. Has a 360 or 390 with a NP435. Had a rusted out service bed on it when I got it. I put the CM flatbed on it.
I also need to lift the rear about 6” now. Has 2 1/4” wide rear springs. 51” eye to eye. Dana 70 under the rear with 11 leafs.
What trucks used springs this size? The aftermarket ones I see are all 3” wide.
