For a Funeral this weekend, a family member has mentioned if it would be possible to bring out our trucks. They have all been put away for the year but, if that is what they want and ask, I want to try my best to do it for them. Vistation day looks fabulous, but Saturday the commital service at the cemetery looks like rain and snow. I am kicking around trying to apply some kind oil spray or rust inhibitor around the insides of the fenders, under the floor pans, gravel pans and any other place that might retain snow and moisture. Anything you can suggest? Mine is a 56, others have 55's. Except for the drive trains they are pretty much stock trucks.
In your proposed one-time use I favor leaving the truck as-is and afterward doing a thorough and complete fresh water hose-down under the fenders, cab, bed, and in the engine bay. Someone will get wet doing this but it ought to get all the salt and chemicals off well before they do any damage.

I think thats a good idea really. Theres a manual wand car wash about a mile from where I am storing it. I think I might spray it down and then slowly drive it to the storage unit from there. Its not a climate controlled unit, but this time of year even if its cold outside its normally well above freezing so it will drip dry.
