Getting Frustrated
Hey guys, I've been looking for a 6.9 or a 7.3 IDI F2/350 for a while....THEY ARE IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND without tons of rust or needing a lot of work, and yes, I check craigslist all the time.
Is rust repair for the usual rust spots (fenders and bed over the wheels) expensive?
And I'm talking about rust-through, not just rust.
Thanks.

I bought my 93 IDI on Ebay from a guy in Texas. There wasn't a spot of rust to be found anywhere on the truck. I suggest looking for a truck from the Midwest or northern Texas. Don't get one from the gulf coast sea air rust them out and anything from the northern states get too much road salt on them.
Yeah, I'm gonna gave to do that. I live in northern michigan and Wanted to buy from someone that was within a days drive, but all thos states have snow.
Do you have any advice for buying from a private seller (on craigslist) and having the truck shipped?

Snow or not is not really the point.
Many western states have plenty of snow but only use salt in the bigger towns.
Colorado has plenty of snow, and as long as you stay out of places like Denver there are plenty of rust free older vehicles.
Wyoming, Nebraska and several other states fall into the same category.

I don't know where you are but here is a really sweet ride I been drooling over all day. Wife had to hide my phone to keep me from calling on it. I guess I better pass tho I need a dozer more than another truck.
