Have a 95 F350 with the E4OD transmission, has a plow on it, has a cooler and a gauge. One of our employees was plowing in 4 high and took the temp up to 260! Told him to get out on the road and cool it down, which he did and we finished the storm.
I was preparing to change out the fluid, but I hopped in it and its super gutless in 1st. Wont spin the tires. Seems fine on the road, then when I was bringing into the shop I put it in 1st and it rolls backwards?. Have the clutches welded together? Anything I should try before
replacing the whole thing? Thank you
When you say the temp was 260, is that engine temp? Or trans temp?
E4OD, sorry, updated. Trans temp gauge installed and went to 260. It starts out okayish in drive but when you put it in 1st it will barely move forward under throttle, then begins rolling backwards. Reverse is powerful/normal.
