I have the opposite problem, but killing the beeper itself is rather easy, in the 99-01s it' behind the instrument cluster and AFAIK it's the same in the 02+s. I'd wait for someone to confirm that.

Right, you can ignore the light but at least we know the circuit is 'working' except for the fact that well, it doesn't detect the doors as closed.
I'm going through a similar process in reverse (that is to say, the PO yanked out everything and I don't get a door ajar warning or a seatbelt warning etc) so I figured I'd lend a hand. The only thing is, I don't know HOW different the 03 is compared to my 2000.
The 'accepted bad' way of doing it in the pre-03s was to either remove the contact from the ignition lock barrel (the contact is visible once you remove the key block) or cut the black-with-pink-tracer wire that went from the ignition block towards the left under the steering column. AFAIK the contact removal works in 02->07s as well, at least forums seem to think so.
Therefore, do the usual to remove the key block - you'll need to remove the bottom half shell from the steering column, on the bottom of the barrel you'll see a place where you can stick in a thin punch and/or screwdriver. That should enable you to remove the key block by turning and pulling the whole block out.
At that point, there is a piece of black plastic with a small copper contact on the top of the barrel (around 11 o'clock IIRC). You can put a piece of electrical tape on it thus breaking the current path, put the ignition lock back in and test. The chime should shut up.

thank you, I’ll wait till I return home. I have a pretty good stereo, so I’m doing ok ignoring the squeaker too. I’m only two more days from home.
I am assuming the interior lights stay on as well? Have you tried spraying all the door lock mechanisms with WD40 or similar product? Mine used to do that, and all I did was spray the locking mechanisms with WD like 12 years ago and no issues since.
Agreed - spray it heavy with windex or WD-40 like stated above and it should resolve itself. I used to keep a bottle in the truck for just this reason. After a few door latch drowning attempts mine has also gone away.

yep, PO removed the bulbs. Guess you missed the part where I removed all 4 latches and tested each switch?
