Hi. Recently got a " Front Camera malfunction" message on my 2017 F350 Lariat truck display. Very persistent and annoying. Took it to the dealer and they were unable to fix and align the front camera. Recommended replacement at a very significant cost. Have not had a second opinion yet. Are these units repairable? Are there alternative sources for the IPMA - Camera/rearview mirror module? Thanks

We need to know what year your vehicle is, are you over your warranty ?
I have been pondering the cause of this misalignment of the Front camera. The error code repeatedly comes up first thing in the morning and I have to clear it multiple times with the OK button. Later when the car and the windshield are warmed it only comes on once and when cleared it stays off. I have a large horizontal windshield crack growing across the middle from a rock strike. It is 2/3 of the way across, L to R. Usually one waits until the spring to fix these as there is a good chance you will get another rock chip from the winter roads and gravel. Here is the question! Would the crack cause the window to distort enough to change the orientation of the camera as it is attached to the windshield and not allow proper alignment. This is made worse by a cold windshield and corrects somewhat as it warms. Wondering if replacing the windshield would solve this. My comprehensive covers the windshield and would be far cheaper than the $3000 repair quoted by Ford. Thanks
Fixed, Was waiting for the end of winter to have my windshield replaced and get the front alignment camera replaced at a significant cost. Took my truck to a different dealership for a second look and opinion. They were unable to reset the code, but this time the tech. took the time to check the module, rear view mirror assembly. He found an issue with a connector and fixed it. So far so good with no fault code.
Thanks for the update but I'm unclear on what the "front camera" is. My front camera as part of the 360 system is in the front Ford emblem. I thought the part behind the rear view mirror was for rain sensing wipers and/or auto high beams.

I do not have the 360 camera on my model. The IPMA camera in the rearview mirror also has the lane assist warning feature in it, also. The annoying one where your steering wheel vibrates if you deviate out of the lane.Cheers
Pisses me off that trained mechanics wanted first to throw expensive parts at it, and it turns out it is a wiring connector. Epic failure on that dealership.

Ahh, thank you for the clarification. I don't have that feature on this truck. Just auto high beams and rain sensing wipers. I wonder if they share the same "camera" or if that lane assist adds another part behind the mirror. Anyway, good to see it was an easy fix after all that.
