Bed bolts...5th wheel prep package
I just got my 5th wheel prep package and was going through the contents. Does Ford no longer include new bed bolts?

I purchased the prep pack for my 2017 and it didn't come with new bed bolts either. From everything I could dig up they are reusable.

That's what I plan on doing. Hopefully my bed doesn't go flying off driving down the road.

I thought the 5th wheel package was installed by the factory?

you can buy it separately and either have the dealer install it, or install it yourself.

When I installed mine, I did a bunch of reading and i remember reading that the bed bolts shouldn't be reused.
So I reused mine (like others have) and they torqued down fine and have no come loose.

What does the installation instructions say about the bed bolts? Does it say to remove and reinstall them?
Thanks

Instructions don’t say anything about new bolts, but I know I’ve read that they used to send new bolts with the kit.
Maybe they determined it wasn’t necessary to replace them.

They will groan some when flexing the truck hard (through bumps etc) if you reuse them. Thats what I have found when I did it and it may just be my truck and heck it could be the tool box.
Not worried its a work beater

Damn near every truck that has had a spray-in bedliner installed has reused the original bolts without issue. Throwing away bolts that have been used once is silly unless you are NASA...
