Guys I have a 1962 F100 4x4 wring bed truck
seems pretty simple but it’s not. The truck is completely original and was a special order truck with the “B” code 262 I6. She runs and I’m tuning it up to get it better.
Parts seem to be just a touch off or no one has info on replacement parts. Keeping it original and even found some NOS parts already.
a manual would be a great help with any pictures would be appreciated.
From what I’ve seen so far on the web mine is the most original. This year I really just want to go through the running gear and then dive into the rust in the summer as it is also my plow truck
any help is appreciated 62 F100 4X4 “B” code engine 262
The 1962 (and 1962-63) shop manuals were just a supplement to the 1961 Ford Truck shop manual so I'd probably start with the 1961 F100-F800. Most procedures in the supplements just point back to the 1961 manual anyway.
Then if you want to get into looking up your own part numbers there is the Master Parts Catalog. For your truck this should be a good link I hope. They have part numbers and exploded diagrams on the disk.
They didn't make a ton of the 4x4 trucks. Yours looks very good and I see it is still sporting the 8 bolt Warn M4 locking hubs. Those were only used from 1959-1965 and then Warn changed the design. Well worth keeping those going. Post a pic of the warranty plate and I add it to my list and decode it if you want. I have two 1966 F250 4x4 trucks which share some of the same parts.
I did something like this decode on another link
i was able to see the axles too
3.89 9” in the back and Dana 3.92 up front
i didn’t know about the Warn hubs! I will definitely keep them
thanks guys

Different front / rear axle ratios.... how did they not fight each other? Did they install different sized (taller/shorter) tires? Or isn't the 0.03 ratio enough difference to worry about? (between 3.89 and 3.92).....
Rear axle code 12 61/62 3.89 (3.3M) Ford (WBG) F100 2WD & 4WD
Front axle code A 4/W/D (frt.) 4/W/D Free running (frt.) 3.92 (3M) Dana/Spicer 446F
Guess this way your front is faster and the rear doesn’t push and bind on the transfer case? Just a thought
