v10 trans problems

does not want come out of 1st gear un less i let off gas and hit again. maybe the shift solenoid?

no codes from scanguage went to oreilly and no codes. yes the od light is flashing

Then you need a tool that can read the codes. Auto parts stores cannot read these codes. I recommend Forscan.

You'll have to drive it until codes come up. Mine did something similar when the mechnical diode went out, but you will need codes to confirm the condition.

If the OD OFF light is flashing there are codes stored. You just need the right tool to read them.

You can get FORScan here. Unless you need some advanced features, which I don't think you do in this case, you can just download the free windows version. It used to only run on Windows 7 but it looks like it's compatible with Windows 10 now. Just under that download link is another link for a

USB/OBD adapter

that they recommend. From another post, it sounds like Pirate has had success with

this adapter

as well. Sounds like this tool can also help you track down misses in your V10, etc. Finally, I'd just say that Mark is the resident transmission expert here. I'd follow his advice. Good luck!

Hey I don’t know if you saw MY excursion problem on here but with mine , it turned out to be fuse 19 under the hood . My OD light stared flashing and my transmission was acting crazy . That #19 fuse being blown caused All KINDS of havoc . I went from no codes to 17 codes from ONE fuse . Just a thought.
