1956 C600 COE project.

Hi all!

I have just brought a 1956 C600 COE and I'm after a little bit of help please.

firstly could someone recommend somewhere to get some parts?
what engine is standard in this truck?
where would i find a workshop manual?
and does anyone have a sump to sell?

Thanks very much, any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Rick..

That's a good looking truck. The cab is a 1955 though. I don't know how to decode the ID plate, but someone will pop in soon that does I'm sure.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your purchase.

Hi Rick:
Welcome to FTE, the best forum and friendly, kind members, who can assist with any questions you may have.
You might want to post your location in the upper right corner so members will know where you are if you need parts or assistance.
Also, all of us with COE's post in the 1948-1956 forum, not the large truck area.

There are many threads from myself(https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...-im-ready.html), as well as Ken Newman, Steve Harlow, mytoolman, and Tom(Dynamic).Use the search function at the top of the page to find them all.
Buy yourself the parts and chassis manuals on ebay or the cd version. which is under $30.00. I refer to them constantly and answer most all of your questions. I know one of the manuals is online, but can't find it at the moment.
Try Mid-Fifty, Dennis carpenter, Chuck's Trucks for most of your parts.
Best of luck, some one will be along soon for a decode for you.

Sweet! It's like looking in a mirror. You're about to have a lot of fun.

This is a great discovery forum. Take twice as many photos as you think you will need. Ask a question evertime you get stuck. It will be fun finding the answer and a new friend.

And if this isn't your first trip through Henry Ford's imagination, I'm glad you found the kind of truck everyone really wants to own, the COE.

Hi,

Yes i still own it. progress is a little slower than we would like, but the engine, gearbox, brake systems have all been rebuilt and ready to go, we have the wheels, airbags, dash ready, and seats/door trims have been recovered.
