NOT the same 'ol oil thread
Let me get a few things out of the way first
Yes, I have read a couple older threads regarding oil:

Ok, been using Rotella T6 since new, changed at 5K mile intervals. Phosphorus levels is what started the whole oil debate with CK-4. T6 has levels just a little above 1000ppm. Was thinking of switching to an oil that boast phosphorus levels at around 1200ppm, and higher zinc levels which they say is more anti wear additives.
My question is if using an oil with these significantly higher levels will mess with the exhaust after treatment system. I could not locate additive levels in the older CJ-4 oil during an internet search. Thanks for reading.

The newer Ford spec in on Amsoil's website but it's not on Fords list. Supposedly only oils having >1000ppm of phosphorous made the list, and Amsoil looks like it qualifies.
Didn't mention brand earlier because I did not want to make.this a brand X vs brand Y thing.
No worries about brand bashing here. I think most would agree that they are all good if they are on the list. I run T6. I think it's the most popular because of price and availability. I also like it because it meets or exceeds the specs required by almost everything else I own. The whole commonality thing. Many here run Valvoline PBE too. I would be willing to wager that most (non forum regulars / enthusiasts) run Motorcraft dino 10W30 and change it when the dash tells them to and they are fine too. That said, I would be fine running Amsoil if I was out of warranty but would stick with an oil from the list until then just in case the 1 in a million happens to me....

yes, these metals will interfere with the exhuast system
in My book, exhuast components are easier to replace then engines

I can promise you that back in 2015, and for at least a couple years after, you ran oil with 1200 PPM of Z and P. CK-4 had a reduction in Z and P if the manufacturer kept a dual rated CK-4/SN designation. Thoseoils will have about 800 PPM of Z and P. Single rated CK-4 oils can and will have about 1000 PPM. Rotella is a good example. Delvac and Delo went with dual ratings, and show that 800 or PPM. If you want more Z and P, Mystik still has over 1100 PPM. Mobil Delvac MX (at Rural King) has 1200. OR... just order up a bottle of Redline Break-In Additive. 8 ounces in 12 quarts will boost Zinc by 613 PPM, and Phos 508 PPM.
