If you're interested in UOA's...

My truck sees plenty of miles. Anyways, I have a thread going in the Oil and Lubrication section for people to choose my next oil. It's a poll, actually, with 3 choices (Valvoline Blends, Mobil 1 Synthetics, and Mystik JT-8) pretty close and the "Other" category winning with 11 votes so far. I just wanted to try and get as many people to vote on what oil THEY would like to see a UOA on. Stop by and maybe post a reply, and select your oil from the list. Make sure if you select "Other" to specify if you want a specific type (Castrol GTX, for example - it's not a choice otherwise) or if you're doing as others have and voting for me to run a cheap oil (Supertech, or some other oil) to get a wear analysis off of it. Thanks guys!

I know it might be a bit stupid...but I'm young!

This might sound a bit "silly", but what is a UOA?

Yep. UOA = Used Oil Analysis. Basically sending in your used oil (3000, 5000, 10000 miles, whatever your cup of tea) to be analyzed by a lab (Blackstone, in this case) so that wear metals, addatives, etc can be determined to decide the condition of the engine and the state of the oil itself.
