FIREWALL INSULATION QUESTIONS

Did a search and didn't see anything on Firewall Insulation. A couple questions on Firewall Insulation and they are:
- (1) For those that have replaced theirs, how difficult of a tasks is it and what all is involved?

- (2) The aftermarket Firewall Insulation ABS panels shown in Dennis Carpenter, National Parts Depot and LMC catalogs all read similar. Experience installing any of these?

Thanks for your rime W/my inquiry.

I used Dennis carpenter for mine. I had a fully disassembled cab tho when I installed it. Fit fine. No complaints

Also interested in this I’m going to do my inside firewall with an aftermarket modern sound/heat reduction but I think it’s going to involve removing my whole heater box from under the dash.

DWIRT,
Thanks for your reply. When you indicate you had to disassemble the cab, would appreciate clarifying what's involved, i.e., items / components requiring removal. I'm trying to understand to what extent is the task involving. My truck is a 1977 F-150 Regular Cab without A/C.

Planned for this month and next (November and December weather dependent) plan to:
- (a) Install Edelbrock Heads, covert over to Holley 2300 EFI, and install an EFI ready fuel tank. Been gathering parts since January 2020.
- (b) Will also need to remove the RB 435 transmission (input shaft seal is progressively leaking more as time goes by), that will require removing the seat, floor mat and shift tower. Also will add dyna-mat to rear below the window and floor boards.

Because the transmission requires removing the seat and floor mat, so I'm considering Firewall Insulation and is why I'm inquiring about it. Again thank you for your time.

I had it disassembled for resto project. My pickup had the big ac/heat box. If I remember right the insulation went up to the box. Straight heater config is different I’m sure

DWIRTH,
Copy. Yesterday I pulled the trigger and ordered Firewall Insulation from Dennis Carpenter. Taking the portable wheel mounted hoist lift home from work this evening, will use it to remove my bed, just can't seem to gather enough guys to help remove it. In no hurry to get everything done, want to enjoy the hobby while I'm able. Plan for bed removal will make changing over to EFI ready fuel tank, fuel lines, prepping / painting frame and underside of the bed.
