I am new to site and am restoring 1951 ford f1. Getting ready to complete inside of cab and was wondering if anyone has used the abs panels on their truck and how they like them. They are pretty expensive so wanted to make sure it looks good and is quality stuff before buying, thanks.

 

Are you referring to the Rod Doors type of formed panels like i used in my 53 F100? They have been excellent, I have yet to cover them and no body even notices. On the the other hand, I talked my upholstery guy to use the ABS panels made out of the sheets you can purchase at plastic supply houses on my 40 coupe. He was hesitant, but they worked out fine, and will never warp. I am a big fan of the stuff. It can be heated and formed to whatever shape you need. I used it to form a back panel on my 46 business coupe and it worked great.
