So I bought this 2010 F350 and discovered there were no locking hubs on it.. So I dug up who the previous owner was and have asked lots of questions and he's been very forthcoming on all of it. So he told me he took the hubs out because or of them was rusting and he just never got around to buying new ones before he sold it. There is signs of rust on the driver side so I guess he's being truthful.
So I bought cheap hubs off Amazon and I'm getting nothing. I installed them in full locking position and the wheel will soon but the shaft behind the wheel does not.. So I assume these are junk hubs, bit I wanted to rest the 4x4 system before buying good hubs..
So now, what's the best bang for the buck with hubs? I don't want to spend a ton as I will hardly use 4x4, but with my business, I'll need it crossing people's lawns when wet in the mornings .
Did it require any modifications? Can you send attach the part number by chance?

did not require any modifications. old hubs pulled off, new ones stuck in, cap off air lines. I’m no mechanic, and i was able to do it with ease.
part numbers may be different- web sites will match you to your vehicle, but the Warn 95070 link posted above by AK4x4 sounds familiar (looks like the hub i got)

I'd go with the WARN manual hubs. There are a lot of things that can go wrong with the vacuum operated ones. The only downside is you'll have to get out in the snow.
If its snowing you can lock the hubs before you get in your truck.
Out of curiosity, if you use manual hubs and your shift on the fly solenoid is bad, do you need to replace that before your transfercase will work? I'm considering finding a manual transfercase to get rid of electronic crap;

If your refering to the PVH solenoid for the hubs then no you will just lock the hubs manually and shift the transfer case into 4x4 with the switch. If your talking about a solenoid that powers the shift motor on the transfer case then yes that will need to work for you to have 4x4. For 4x4 to work the hubs have to be locked, and the transfer case needs to be shifted into 4x4 either electronically if you have the switch or manually if you have the lever on the floor.
