fuel injectors

Can anyone tell me if the injectors out of a 99 explorer 5.0 will work in a 90 F 150 5.0. I know the f 150 injectors are ev1 and the 99 explorer injectors are ev6, the plug on them is different but can I take the pug from the 99 harness and splice it on my 90 harness and the injectors work fine with the 90 efi.

Yes that would work, there are connector adapters available for this swap to.

I've heard of a couple instances of people having issues with the adapters. I've converted 3 different vehicles in my garage from EV1 to later EV6 injectors and I've always just soldered in new EV6 pigtails. Butt-splices are okay today - especially if the fuel injection harness is not a removable sub-harness - just make sure to use waterproof connectors.
