fuel injectors
Im looking to replace the fuel injectors on my 94 4.0L. has anybody done this and is it a tough thing to do? Do I need to pull of the intake manifold? I have a problem with power in the explorer, it doesnt have any! and I was hoping that new injectors would help.

I doubt that bigger injectors would help power. If your air/fuel ratio is correct now, new injectors will not do anything. Stock injectors are capable of much more horsepower than the stock rating, so I would spend my money on something that would be of benefit. I would try to free up some restriction in the intake and exhaust before doing anything else.

What size injectors are in there now? If I'm correct, you have 19lb. injectors in your explorer. They will support roughly 200hp. If you're already at that, then I would suggest 24lb. injectors or better. But if you replace the injectors, you will also either have to get an aftermarket chip custom programmed with the new injector sizes, or get a ne MAF calibrated for the new injector sizes.

If you are still looking to replace your injectors try going to the Autozone web site at www.autozone.com. They have a "how to" section there that is very similar to the Chilton repair manuals on-line. I recently replaced a faulty injector on my '99 4.0L and although the info on the web page was all I needed to do the job.
