Question Di Injectors

I have a 95 250 4x4 with a DI powerstroke. I recently priced out injectors and all i can say is wow. I have access to another powerstroke for parts from a 99 f550. was wondering if these injectors will work in my mill and possibly any other parts. Thanks for any help. Josh

NO a 96 is single shot , the 99 is split shot, its sad that you can get aftermarket ones for yours for 700$ and a lot cheper then stock

everything is differnt on the 99, the injectors, pcm, idm, you would need basically the whole motor wiring harness and everything connected to the wiring harness. you would be better off with a set of rebuilts. get a set of baby swamps for $800 and make your PSD come ALIVE

No doubt. If your gunna have to get new injector, just go with aftermarkets since your gunna be in there, might as well start with a good base if you ever decide to make some horsepower.

Here they are. http://www.swamp-donkey.biz/injectors.htm

I can't remember anybody ever "reverse engineering" a single shot PSD to a split shot, but I don't see why it wouldn't work. The injectors themselves have exactly the same external dimensions, so fitting them in is no problem. The way they operate is unchanged, so the wiring harness should work too. The IDM in the 95 is at least as good as the 99's.

I hate to cause you extra work if it didn't work, but I think it will run fine if you just slap in the 99 injectors and PCM and call it good. You could test the theory easily enough by putting the 99's computer in the 95 before you do the injectors. It will run rough and choppy, but it should run (I think).

Ok Cookie88 now you went and did it! LOL I need to know why it would be rough and choppy. Is it because of longer pulse width on the 99 to compensate for the split shot and injecting too much fuel? And now it's suddenly finding the idle is too high for it's programming and trying to compensate?

haha..don't make me think...it's late.

Basically yes. single shot injectors with unaltered split shot programming will produce a very erratic idle.....like a constant 900-1600 rpm surge, but they seem to run fine when you get your foot in it

My only real concern would be weather or not the 95's HPOP could supply enough oil to run the splits.
