Sound and insulation

Well I have been doing a lot of reading here and am getting mixed opinions on sound deadening.
i know the butyl mats are exceptional and I also have learned that 100% coverage is not needed. But I do not know how much I would need. So here is my plan for insulation and I need help making decisions for this:

rust cleaned up in cab and eliminated
surfaces covered with por15 where it’s needed
clean surfaces inside
place butyl backed product
place aluminum backed jute padding
(Jute on roof and floor and possibly in doors)
carpet and headliner installed

so the question is how much sq. Ft. Will I need if the butyl product? This will absorb vibrations, and the jute is for heat insulation. I hope that makes sense.

I have a 66 truck if that makes a difference. I will not buy dynamat because of the price and will not use peal n seal and take a risk of it pealing off and smelling. (It gets hot in Texas)

any help is greatly appreciated, it’s difficult to have a nice truck with budget fairly tight.

Stay clear of the peel and seal. The correct stuff is worth a little more money, but I agree Dynamat is crazy high. Go to Amazon and look up noico or kilmat 80 mil. Tons cheaper than dynamat, but just as effective. I use it for car audio installs.

Amazon Amazon

36 sq ft should give you everything you need at about $60. That should take care of the floor, back wall, roof, and doors of a single cab pickup.

Don't know the brand name of this product, foil backed self adhesive foam about 5/16" thick. Also used it on the top when headliner was replaced. So far it's been a good sound and heat barrier.

Should be easy to measure the surfaces you mentioned and calculate sq ft for each product you intend to use....buy a little extra for waste/cutting/fitting.

Those are the same two brands I have been looking at, and have read great things. I just wasn’t sure how much.

so with butyl and jute, and carpet the sound inside the cab will be quite nice right? Well as nice as an old truck will be? I can not hear anyone speak when doing over 30 it’s so loud

edit: also any opinions on Acc and lmc carpets?

did you have a layer under this? I used the MAT 66 and it seems to be fine, I just completed it and have the ability to go with a second layer but I never really thought about that, would I see a noticeable difference?
