Hello, I have a 1995 f250 7.3 4x4 auto. Long story short I blew the transmission and I replaced it with a transmission from a 1992 f250. Everything went good until I went to plug the harness in to the shift solenoid. Plugs are different. From my understanding from what ive read on forums, on 1989 to 1994 e4od's they have protection diodes in the trans and 95+ has them in the ecm. So My question is since I wouldn't be losing the protection diodes, could I cut my plug off the harness from my truck and splice on a plug from a 89-94 truck to match with the one on my transmission or would I have to replace the whole shift solenoid with one for a 95+? I'd throw the solenoid from my old trans in but it has failed and the plug is cracked on it. I'm sorry if that's a stupid question lol. Thanks in advance and I apologize if this is in the wrong section.
If anyone can tell me which colors need to go to where on each plug that'd be greatly appreciated. I see on that thread there is a diagram but it says the pictures are unavailable for me.
