I run the Stanadyne Blue year round forumla and every other tank the Stanadyne lubricity. Does it help? Can't say, but sure doesn't hurt. I have been using it since day one of my truck.
You might do some searching in the 6.7 Forum for more info.
My preference is the Hot Shot Secret line of products. Their Diesel Extreme product has impressed me when using it in a Duramax I used to drive for work. I ran a dose of it when I got my 7.3 a month ago, and have been using their Everyday Diesel Treatment at almost every fill up since then. I like the EDT because it comes in a 16ish OZ bottle and you just portion out an ounce at fill up and dump it in.
I use Power Service Diesel Kleen and their winter supplements in my 00, as well as in my "work truck" which is an M35A3 deuce and a half. also used them in my 88 IDI and have seen improvements in winter starting on all 3. Recently though, I have been using the Lucas cetane booster and it seems to perform about the same.
I just purchased a 2015 with a 6.7L a month ago. I really like Lucas products. I use their products in my race car. Today I removed the Wix oil filter and Installed a Motorcraft filter and back filled with the Lucas synthetic oil treatment. I also added 8oz of the Lucas fuel treatment to the tank...which I just filled.
My question is how often are you supposed to use the fuel treatment products of any type.
Some people say every fill up needs to have additive to help with lubricity. Maybe that is excessive, maybe not. You need to check the product you are using also, and see how often it is recommended. On the Hot Shot Secret products I use, the diesel extreme is only a maintenance product, they do not recommend every fill up use. I think I read somewhere it can lead to slightly higher than normal EGT's. But they make a product (Everyday Diesel Treatment) that is meant for every fill up use.
