Stand Pipe
I have an 04 Excursion with a 6.0L. I recently experienced an electrical fire in the engine compartment so I have been doing some more in-depth maintenance while I have been replacing all the burnt pieces. One of the jobs I have been working on is replacing a leaking valve cover gasket on the passenger side. In the past I have also be experiencing a fault code for the #7 injector being under voltage. Since I already had the valve cover off I decided to go ahead and replace the #7 injector. When I went to replace the stand pipe I noticed mine does not and will not connect. In the picture below you can see the two pieces of the stand pipe. Can anybody tell me if something is missing. When I took it out it came out as two pieces and the long portion of the pipe came out with the oil rail. I am able to blow air through the long pipe but it is very restricted, I can see a small pin hole at the bottom of the pipe. I already purchased a new dummy plug to replace the original.
Thank you,
Jeff Johnson
use compression to seal. I would switch to the new one with the white backing ring.
Both that one and the new one have a snubbing orifice
so you will find it hard to blow air through it.
