While pulling a mountain today with the camper in tow the lower hot side tube popped loose, I had to find a place to stop. I reattached the boot, got to the campsite and tried to clear the codes with my Scangauge II. No codes. Did it store a different type code and if so will it clear on its own?
The SGII is known for not being that good with reading or clearing codes.
You want something with a little better track record when it comes to codes. Forscan or one of the high end scan tools are your best pick.
I have ForScan on my laptop at home 100 miles away, unfortunately only the Scangauge2 is with me, at the campground. Didn't drive it much today, tomorrow we will be out and about. Was going to pick up a intercooler boot but no dealers had them in stock.
Your best bet is to get home and get a different set of hot side hoses and new clamps. I got mine from Riff Raff and love them. Have had continuous 23 to 26 pounds of boost on them without an issue when pulling big hills.
Clean off the oil REALLY well with brake cleaner and some rags of the boots and pipes/connections and limp it home, then get new clamps and boots, clean everything and you wont have an issue again.
That is the plan. Going out today to find an auto parts store to get brake cleaner. Wife has hair spray. Very poor internet connection here (3G) so I can't order the boots. Fortunately the trip home is mainly downhill but today unloaded we will be pulling grades.
Pulled the camper home, no problems, was a nasty trip pouring rain. Once I unhook and get stuff settled I will hook up Forscan and see what code was thrown.
