Quick question, easy answer for the MAP hose

Quick question, easy answer for the MAP hose

I am in the process of trying to find the issue with why I get 15% and 85% VGT numbers on a hard acceleration. I replaced the EBP sensor, tube and fitting and that helped the issue some, but did not resolve it. I also checked the MAP hose and its connected on both ends as it should be and the fitting was clean.. My question on the hose is, its rock hard, it doesn't flex at all. Its hard like old fuel hose. Is it possible this is an issue.? I am going to get me an oil filter today and would like to get some hose if needed, but if its not a big deal I wont worry. Hoping for a quick answer. Thanks

My experience is when a flexible hose becomes hard, it needs to be replaced. It is difficult for it to seal at the fittings when it becomes hard, and it is prone to cracking. YMMV.

Mark hit that nail right on the head and when and drove it home in one swing.

He is right if the hose will no longer flex it also will not seal well.

I would replace it. Use care with the sensor as that thing is plastic and with age
it becomes very brittle and prone to cracking.

The suggestion wasn't a waste. After changing the hose, my ICP numbers are now where they are supposed to be when at an idle. I'm still having a sticking turbo, so I think all that is left is to pull it out and clean it. I made another post on it.
