just a quick question on my mind right now. i have a rough country 1.5 inch leveling kit coming soon and was wondering if i need a spring compressor to get the stock ones out and the new ones in?
On my '91 F150 2WD I was able to remove the front springs without compressing them.
I just unbolted the shocks and sway bar, then jacked the front end up and let the front suspension hang freely.
Then just unbolt the upper spring retainer and the top is free.
a 1.5 shouldnt be that hard to put in, make sure to jack it by the frame and remove the shocks and you shouldnt have a problem installing, if you need more assistance pry down on the axle.
ok i got the left spring off after alot of braincells and a crowbar. it was tight on the spring bucket but is loose on the bottom. could the old guy put them in wrong?

Yes. There is a place to line up the end of the top coil in the bucket.
i am getting ready to put the new springs in but i need the i beam to drop another 2-3 inches but it will only go an inch. would loosening the radius arm help?
