I twisted off the distributor hold down screw and pulled the head to drill it out on my 8BA. Here is the hole in the piston that I found.
I really hadn’t planned on replacing all 8 pistons and rings but I can’t find a single piston for sale. Did I just find my next project? My plans are to leave in the truck, hone and replace with standard pistons and rings

Maybe plan on replacing all eight pistons and rings. Then don't look much deeper or it will never end.
A good friend of mine owns an engine machine shop. Once he has purchased pistons for an old motor from Egge machine. Quality was horrible. Some so bad they were not usable.
