I have a 2005 crown vic front clip that i want to put on my 56f100. I know the crown vic is too wide for my truck, but what if i use the factory steel wheel it has a wide offset 7 inches . The outer edge of my f100 front fenders are 76inches wide, will this work? thanks
Look at the crossmember the team321 sells, it uses CV components and narrows it about 5". I'm doing one right now with that set up.
Good for you, really. But I have to ask, where is the savings, the 321 cross-member is $1195 USD plus the CV cross-member and ugly wheels to boot?
What is wrong with the MII or is this just to be different ?

Seems to me to be a self answered question?? I'll never understand why so many people want to go out of their way to make their projects more difficult than they need to be, and compromised at resale? This question seems to be popping up almost daily, recently.

I don't think there is anything wrong with the MII it was my second choice, but I went with the CV because I thought it's the more modern choice and I was able to get the CV donor parts for basically nothing, the CV parts are common along with the "should be better" factory CV geometry, it uses off the shelf dual piston calipers and 12" rotors, the factory control arms are aluminum and pretty beefy, a buddy gave me a new set of coilover shocks, I had a good Mark VIII rack, then my brother lives near Team321 and he was able to pick it up so I saved on the shipping. All in I'm less then $800 for everything, so that's the savings for me. I couldn't do the MII for that much. If they were both the same price I would still go with the CV because it is a more modern front end.
The next 56 F100 that I'm doing is going to have C4 Corvette suspension, I already have Flatout's kit, the truck and the donor's parts.

Yes it has, and I am facing a moral dilemma. I think the attraction to the CV is that it is cheap and easy,
Answer what I believe to be true, ... or should I just ignore the question and save me the trouble of answering (best), ... or it is really tempting to give a big crap story about how it is a 20 minute job and almost installs itself (not good).
So while I am having a mini rant there seems to be a noticeable trend for some new posters to just ask questions (that's good) but without doing any research at all themselves ( millennial) and sometimes arguing with any reply.
I am just getting too old I guess. (end of mini rant)

Just because it's newer doesn't necessarily equate to better. As someone who owns and has driven daily a 04 Mercury Marauder, I can tell you the ride is great, but the front suspension geometry I would't jump up and down about. The car eats the insides of the front tires something awful, and the alignment adjustment is maxed out. I get maybe 25-30,000 on tires before the cords and belts are hanging out of the inside edge, and there's still a ton of tread left on the rest of the tire. People use this because they've found it easy (or think it is), not because it's good. There's better options, imho.

I'm right there with ya' pal. I could probably rant right along with you, but then that would be a total hijack of this interesting and entertaining thread.
