i would like to ask the experts about the potential differences in terms of overall strenght when it comes to the front axles of the 05-Today Ford F250/350 compared to the ram's. From what i have heard so far, the bigger Dana (kinda) Super 60 in the 05+ Super Dutys was a bit stronger compared to the Rams, but is this true for alle those past 15 years? The new coil spring front axle has a big tube of 3.75", is the Ram#s really thinner? And what about inside differences?

Thank you!

Ask the Dodge boys if they like sticking the super 60 in their Dodge just for fun, or if they do it for a reason! When was the last time you saw a Ford with an AAM conversion?
EDIT: Another point............why do the rock buggy builders all seem to want the super 60?
Yeah that sounds like what i used to hear, but what are the actuall differences? Did Dodge stick with a 3.15" Tube? Or is it weaker insights? And did Dodge never upgrade on this, even on the newest power wagons?

All that is beyond my pay grade!! LOL. All I do know is that someone just the other day on one of the RAM forums was asking about doing a conversion on his Gen 4 RAM.
And has anyone ever went from the Super 60 to the AAM? Likely not, which kind of says it all right there. And if they have, we don’t hear them bragging about it.
EDIT: As another point, Ford uses the DANA Super 60 through all the Super Duty line, all the way up to the 550. RAM on the other hand only uses the AAM up through the 3500 dually. 4500 and 5500’s get the Magna Steyr 275 MM front axle. That “could” be saying something right there.
Did not see the "Edit" part, sorry.. As far as i know the Super 60's on a F-250 and a F-550 are only the same on the outside, on the inside the D60's from the 450/550 do indeed differ.
But yeah it might be an indicator, on the other hand that Steyr 275 MM might be stronger compared to the Super 60 then.
But i guess no one here knows about the tubing sizes of any of those axles?
