Speedometer gear

Can anyone tell me the part number for the speedometer drive on a 1964 T 98 transmission with a 354:1 rear differential?

I'm not seeing a 3.54 rear end gear ratio in a 1964 F100. Your truck came with a 4.10 ratio didn't it? Besides transmission and rear end the drive and driven gears also varied a bunch based on tire sizes. Of course, everything was bias ply back then so figuring a 1-to-1 compare with a radial tire you'd have to know the diameter of both old and new. Some web sites can help with a conversion chart.

Looks like 3.73 was the lowest numerical ratio offered in 1964 F100. All other series (F250, 4x4, F350) didn't even go that low.

Interesting. I am getting a set of 3 54 gears out of a Dana 60-2 from a slick. was a Dana 60-2 available in any other ford F100's after 64?

Yes, both 1965 and 1966 offered the Dana 60-2 limited slip in a 3.54 ratio. The T18 looks like it uses the same gears as the T98A.

Here's a partial list -

Tires, Year and Series, Drive Gear, Teeth, Driven Gear, Teeth.

Perfect so what I am reading I need a 17 or an 18 tooth gear. I based my tire size I am using now off the 6.50 16 tire dimension that it was originally ordered with. So I should be ok. Can you tell me what drive gear I have now? 1964 T98 trans 4 10 ratio it is all original drive train

Top of this list. Tough to tell which one, but probably 20 tooth.

Dana 60.2 with Limited Slip: 1963/66 F100 (optional). Available ratios: 1963/66: 4.10-1 // 1965/66 3.54-1.

Post the AXLE code stamped on the 2nd line-far right of the Warranty Plate.

There was no 9" w/a 3.54-1 ratio. 3.50-1 was common with 3 and 4 speeds.

ND I have a 4:10 Dana 60-2 in my 64 now from factory. You and a few others decoded the tag for me several years ago. I have found a 65 Dana 60-2 with a 3:54 in it and am going to put that ring and pinion in my 64 for a little better highway driveability. The man I bought it from is sending me everything but the housing. I assume everything from the 65 housing will bolt into my 64 housing. Is that correct ND? So my question was for what drive gear will I need once the 3:54 gears are in. Thanks in advance
