It's ok to have rtv in place of the rubber valley gaskets on the ends, and around the water ports up front. Not ok around the air/fuel ports. I tried it once, the fuel turns the rtv to a green goo. They tell you on the tube not to use it around fuel, but I had to try it anyway.

i found a roller motor out of a 1990 f150 was wondering if i was to convert to carb would u have to change the heads too
If the engine is the original it won't be a roller cam in 1990. Besides intake you will have to swap the front timing cover also.
Check the block casting number it will need to be an F4 block to be a roller cam block.
I've saw a whole lot worse than the pics you are showing of your motor. Is it cracked?
not that i can tell but will take ti machine shop here soon hopefully and get the answer on it and ok ill look for that im just weigh my options 9n everything trying to figure out what route to take
