Backup Camera Quit!
Backup Camera Quit!
I've had issues with the backup camera in my 2015 Platinum since buying the truck a few months ago. First, it was the guidelines intermittently not showing up. Then, a few days ago, when I put it in reverse, the screen was blank, and a message showed up telling me the camera was inoperative, and to see the dealership. I've also had some intermittent loss of touchscreen control, where it beeps, but won't go to any of the sub-screens (Navigation, entertainment, climate, phone). The next time I started the truck, the screen worked fine. Is the camera issue related to the other issue, in your opinion, or are they separate problems? Is the APIM module at the root of my problems? I'm sure I'm not the only one with Sync 2 issues. Any help out there would be appreciated!

John

They could be related. I'd first do a reset - disconnect the battery for an hour. If it's still screwed, do a master reset of Sync. This will blow away all your contacts and other information, so do this wisely.
Otherwise, I know with the Taurus, the backup camera is known to have issues, and there are replacements on eBay. I don't think they're hard to change, but I think they need to be aligned in software.
