Dana 44 HELP. Discs or Drums?
This axle is on FB. Myself and the seller are unsure if this is Discs or drum. He said he thinks it came out of a 78/79 F150. I need a new HP center section and covert my EB to Discs without breaking the bank. Are the hubs disc or drum? Thanks Chuck

I doubt that it's a '78 or '79 though. The disc brakes started in '76 on the 4wd trucks, and that's fore sure a ball-joint open-knuckle Dana 44, but the axle tubes look small to me, and the ends and C-bushing pads and steering yokes are not cast parts. They're welded on.
Look at the trackbar bracket and then compare it to John89's cast piece that's integrated into the C-bushing pads.
You can verify for sure that they're disc knuckles (they do look like it to me too though) by having the seller take a picture of the spindles where they bolt on to the knuckles behind the hubs. If they are disc brake parts they have 5 attaching bolts. If they are drum brake parts they have six bolts.
