Chime location?

I would like to trigger the chime (ding ding) when I open the door with certain electrical add-ons powered by accident. Does anyone know how to? Where is the chime by the way?

The chime is integrated into the GEM module.

The GEM doesn't have an input dedicated to activating the chime, but it would be fairly easy to use the key-in-ignition input plus a small external circuit (transistor, a resistor, a couple of diodes, or a relay) to implement a strategy to sound the alarm when one or more circuits are hot when the door is opened, assuming the door ajar switches all work correctly.

If I understand the suggestion correctly, the key-in-ignition wire is normally High (5V?), and when it goes Low (grounded thru key) and door is opened, GEM triggers chime. If I can generate Low when the add-on is on, and tie it to the key-in-ignition wire, opening the door will activate the chime. Boy, this seems to be above my head. But I am going to check the wiring diagram for the key-in-ignition wire if it is 12V or 5V, and will start from there. Thank you for the suggestion.

Thank you, PROJECTSHO. I finally got a plan. I am currently using a single pole switch to turn on the add-on device. I will replace it with a double pole. One continues to turn on the add-on device. The other connects GROUND to KEY-IN-IGNITION. No relay, no circuit board.

UPDATE: Project completed as planned. Works. For reference, the key-in-ignition circuit is [GEM---Key-In-Ignition Wire---Switch---Ground. The switch is the ignition tumbler itself. The key-in-ignition wire remains grounded while vehicle is operated.
