Ah yes sorry. 90% of the trucks I buy are stick usually. Personally have a dislike for auto's but promised the wife it would stay auto. Is thier any negative effect if I wire up the jumper wire and light temporarily in cab to pull codes off the plug? Or would they need to be switched at least I could pull codes when it does act up when I'm driving.
I don't see why you couldn't I use an old Snap-on Red Brick (MT2500) and it has an extension cable allowing me to use it in the Cab and also via Laptop running a VT100 Terminal emulator.
lot of folks use the Innova 3145 OBD1 Ford code reader, it works fine on our IDI trucks with E4OD Tranny .. many code readers do not work well on our trucks.

yea problem is I am at the end of the road. Like for instance my multimeter died because the board fried.... Think I could get a meter in town? Nope had to order a meter and borrow one off my neighbour and the parts store is only open Monday to friday great for the weekend lol. I still have my super dirty to work on too.
Little late but I did end up finding the problem in this case, changed the transmission out for a different one, but lack of maintenance before I got the truck , transmission was filled with sludge all over. And was effecting valve body and pump it self.
