I recently bought a 93 f150 with a 302. It started pinging and running rough. I’ve replaced the map sensor and the pinging stopped but it’s still running rough and codes 33, egr not opening, and 44, thermactor system fault. What could be causing my issue and where to start diagnosing?

I would start by checking all your vacuum lines. After that, pull negative battery cable for 5 to 10 minutes. Reconnect. Bring motor up to temperature. Insure ALL electronics are off. A/C, radio, and check codes again. Both those codes sound like a broken vacuum line somewhere. I'm sure someone with more knowledge will check in soon. But, try these simple steps first.
Code 33 indicates the computer is not seeing the EGR opening when commanded open. Verify the vacuum lines are intact and connected.
Code 44 indicates the computer did not see any extra oxygen during the KOER tests when the thermactor system was triggered on. Is the smog pump and related valves still on the truck?

Yes all emissions equipment is still on and intact.
Given you have issues with the EGR and the air injection system take a look at the metal vacuum reservoir on the passenger side fender well. It's known to rust through on the bottom.

it appears to be ok but I’m gonna leave it with vacuum on it all night to see if it leaks any. Any other common failure areas.
