I am in need of some help with some error codes that I just pulled. Truck is a 88 F-150 351 4*4. pulled the following codes. 11 on KOEO, 32,63 on continuous codes then pulled 63,98 on engine running test. now here are my questions. 11 says system pass. 32 says EVP below closed limits,63 TPSsensor below min.. I am replaceing the TPS as i know that is bad. the 32 I replaced the EGR valve and sensor, do you think the EVR is bad? now the real queation. I pulled a 11 on KOEO which says system pass, then pulled a 98 on running test which states, Hard fault present PCM in back up mode.
Is my PCM failing? Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
It's much more common to have components like the TPS, EVP, and EGR fail than it is for the PCM itself to go bad. I would fix the rest of the codes before I started thinking new computer.
The Haynes manual has procedures for testing both the EGR and the EVP.
If 11 comes up first I believe that the other codes are then in the computers memory from previous errors. It doesnt mean those things are ok just that they may not be causing an issue during KOEO test.
