Heard it go both way but need help with my flexplate/flywheel. Have a truck that is half way done with repairs but ran into a problem. First of all put the new flexplate in and now it won’t turn at all to screw it on to the transmission? What does this mean or do I just not understand how I am supposed to do this? Also while dropping the transmission I must have broke a piece of and now can’t figure out where it goes thought it was my transmission line or oil line but both look fine. Thanks for the help in advance any advice will help.
Members that can help you, will need more information. Particularly, year/make/model/ engine, etc. If you pull your sparkplugs, this will enable you to rotate your flywheel. Be careful while torquing it; I've seen quite a few people crack the replacement and have to start over. You may not even see them form. That part your holding, Idk what it is. Vent tube?
That is the transmission vent tube. Attaches to rubber vent on top of trans and is fastened to the right side of bell housing. When installing the trans to engine you have to make sure the torque convertor is installed into the pump housing all the way. Because the torque convertor uses studs instead of bolts to fasten to the flexplate, everything has to be lined with the studs falling into flexplate holes as the trans is installed. A real pain when installing it without a hoist and adjustable trans stand. Hope this helps.
