I use a forklift. It's a bear for sure. Super awkward and easy to scratch and/or dent tailgate in the process. Near impossible for one person at least on a Platinum. Look for some Electrical Disconnect Pliers (Amazon) and save the cussing when taking the connectors on and off.

Place a towel on the bumper in case the tailgate makes contact with it...

Newer aluminum tailgates are a lot lighter than the old steel ones, which were certainly doable by myself. Yeah, the wiring harness thing, but you'll figure that out.

Don't ask your wife to help - you'll crush a finger to save a scratch, she won't.

I owned 3 step tailgates on f350's. 2016 2019 now 2024. The 19 was the heaviest. This 2024 is so so much lighter then the others.
