Side Mirror Harness Question

2000 Ford Excursion

I did the Tow mirror upgrade with the adapter that makes the rectangle connector fit the round harness and the mirror glass all works good.

I know that the 2000 Trucks do not have the turn signal wire in the harness in the door, but here is my question.

The Factory mirrors that i removed had two connectors, the round one, and a little square one that the new mirrors did not use. What is the purpose of the little square connector that i did not use?

Its for the heat. I am having the same issue, can't get the flasher to work.
They make an adapter you can get but I still can't get the blinker to work.

According to the picture you posted you don't have the turn signal wires in the adapter. I see the 3 for the power mirror and then 2 more for the heat.

My Mirrors claim to support heat, but the adapter did not have the heat plug on it, looks like i may need to find a new adapter.

At this point i have half a mind to just splice the heater wires to the turn signal wires and let them just be always on LED marker lights, simpler than running a turn signal wire, and at least then they are doing something.

Running wires to the running lights and turn signal wire under the dash ain't all that bad. Worst part is fishing it through the rubber boot.

I have a 2004 Excursion...

If I buy the aftermarket mirrors that have the larger upper and lower mirrors, will I already have the correct wiring harness for the turn signals that are in the new mirror glass??

Yeah thats my problem. I can't find the proper adapter.
I know with wire on the truck harness controls the blinker but
I can't get it to work on the new mirror,

If the aftermarket mirrors have turn signal lights built in, I would think you already have it pre-wired already. My 2002 XLT had it. The only thing it didn't have was the running lights. I had to use a pin from the included adapter and create a connection on the plug. Then fished the wire through the rubber boot in the door and splice it onto the running lights wire in the headlight switch.
